First of
all I would like to welcome you to this website! Let me tell you
a little bit about the Marcie Party. It was founded because
the mainstream political parties in Canada have been too
interested in playing politics and not doing what we the citizens
voted them in to do -that is manage the country. Have you ever
watched their performance during Question Period in the House
of Commons? Have you ever wondered why they continually throw
tantrums and play infantile political games instead of doing their job? Have you ever
wondered why they pander to every special interest group in
the country to gain a few more votes? And why do they avoid
ever solving problems or applying common sense? And as far as
trust goes you can trust them to keep on doing what they
do. Well we can change that!
We
decided to name the party after somebody that actually
understands how things work. Somebody with a sense of humour.
Somebody that could actually do things instead of just yak
about it. Enter the Corporate Secretary (Miss) Marcie M.
Farsea Author of the "...best book ever published about
business in Canada"...Your
Very First Billion. One only needs to read her book to
realize that Marcie is much smarter than anyone in
Ottawa.
Oh sure
we could name it the "Newly Improved Conservative Party
or the Recently Revised Liberal Party or the Newest
Democratic Party or the Putrid Green Party but what do those
words really mean? Nothing -as we have all found out!. Better
to name the new party after somebody born in Corner Brook who
gets it. Welcome to the Marcie Party! And supporting us is
easy! It won't cost you any money either! Here is how it
works.
The Marcie
Party will require a "write in vote" as we will not
register the party or accept any donations nor will we qualify
for the $1.75 per year per vote the other parties obtain from
the Canadian taxpayer. So why do this?
A vote
for the Marcie Party will send a clear message to our
politicians because first of all every vote for the Marcie
Party will save the Canadian taxpayer $1.75 per year that
would normally be paid to the political party for every vote
they receive. That means if the government is elected for a
four year term then voting for the Marcie Party saves a
minimum of $7.00 for every vote we get. That may not sound
like much but if for every one million votes that you give to
the Marcie Party the mainstream political parties lose seven
million dollars. By voting for the
Marcie Party (just write in "Marcie Party!") you are showing
support for our platform, saving the taxpayers potentially
millions of dollars and really pissing off some political
parties that have been playing with your money for years with
no hope of ever winning. Its much better than not voting
and voting for a protest party you don't really support
anyway.

Please note that we are the ONLY party to post our platform
before the next election. The others won't tell you where they
stand. In fact they don't even know where they stand until
they talk to their pollsters. Their platforms change with
the wind!
THE
MARCIE PARTY
Platform
1.
Everyone in Canada will have basic rights regarding a shower,
a place to do laundry, a place to sleep, a mailing address an
e-mail address and a good nutritious
meal. Certain responsibilities must be met by people receiving
these benefits related to restrictions on drug and alcohol
use. Funding for these benefits will not be given directly to
the individuals to avoid funds being misused.
2. The
GST and HST will be cancelled. Once you earn your money it
is YOUR money not the government's money.
3. A flat
tax will be implemented with no loopholes and no
complicated forms. Our present tax system is so complex that
billions of dollars of lost production is spent each year
simply preparing tax returns.
4. All
government funded positions will start at $10 an hour for the
first year and the maximum cap on ANY government job or
position will be $70,000. Only one spouse can have a
government job. No strikes in any government position.
5.
Government Lottos will be cancelled as will government
operated gambling institutions. The government is presently
taking over 15 Billion a year from the economy from gambling
activities and has effectively turned it into a massive tax. More info here.
6. The
Armed Forces will have four main objectives; 1. to protect
Canadian coastlines, land and air space 2. to wage war against
an enemy that would attack Canadian interests 3. to deal with
internal emergencies in Canada and 4. To assist with
delivering aid to world disasters and to act as peace
keepers.
7.
Canadian troops will be brought back from Afghanistan
immediately. All troops who served outside the wire
at the main base in contact with the enemy will be given a
$100,000 non taxable performance bonus. All troops who were
killed in Afghanistan will be receive a $1,000,000 non taxable
payment to their estate. All troops who received a serious
injury will be paid a non taxable performance payment of
between $250,000 and $1,000,000 depending on the seriousness
of their injuries and resulting disabilities. These payments
will be paid in addition to the regular payments and
allowances they would normally receive. A Royal
Commission will be created to investigate who authorized
and planned this combat mission and why it was not changed
when the mission began to fail. Those at fault will have their
pensions stopped. The investigation will include the equipment
that our forces were provided with and it's actual performance
in combat. As an example the LAV3 was not designed to
withstand mines, IEDs, RPGs or even an AK-47 round yet was
used as the main combat vehicle for our forces resulting in
needless deaths and injuries.
8. The
Canadian Army will be built up as a formidable, well equipped
fighting force with a five year optional government service
draft available supplemented by reserve service along the
Swiss and Israeli models. The
strength of the the Armed Forces will be brought up to 1% of
the total population in regular and reserve forces that is a
regular component of approximately 150,000 and a reserve
component of approximately 150,000. The Armed Forces will
consist of an Army, Navy and Air force instead of the existing
unified force. The branches will be referred to as the
Canadian Army, the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) and the Royal
Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and each branch will have it's own
distinctive uniform and command structure. The Army will
be available to assist during times of emergency in Canada as
an Aid to Civil Power in addition to it's military
duties.
9. The
Canadian Senate will be abolished. These people are not
elected and given these plum positions based on political favouritism.
No more of that silliness.
10. Run
off elections will be established to obtain a ruling party
which must obtain over 50% of the vote. If not the bottom
party will be dropped and a run off vote held until the 50% is
achieved. All Parties must swear allegiance to Canada in
order to be paid. All eligible voters not voting will be
fined $1000.
11. No
party funding from taxpayers based on votes received. All
parties must self fund. Proportional representation will
be implemented with one vote being equal in all sections of
Canada. As it stands now some people have full
provincial rights despite living in a province with less
population than the GTA.
12. There
will be work available for ALL Canadians who wish to work.
This work will be building infrastructure including highways,
bridges, maintaining parks etc.
13.
Official bilingualism will end except in the Province of
Quebec where the official language will remain French.
Graduation from high school will require that a student have
basic skills in math and the ability to speak one additional
language and the ability to play one musical instrument. Ideally
the one additional language will be French however other
languages will be fine too. The French are fine, hard
working people but only represent 26% of the population and
should not have special language rights in areas where there
are few French speakers. As a result of this French speakers
have taken over the public service and occupy an unfair number
of positions based on their population in Canada. Countless
billions have been spent to maintain an artificial
bilingualism across the entire country and this must end while
still respecting the French language and culture in Quebec and
the very significant contribution the French have made to
establish and maintain Canada. As an example of the inequality
that official bilingualism has spawned in Canada a first
Nations person who can trace their culture back thousands of
years before Canada existed is required to learn both
"official languages" but their language is not
recognized. The policy of the Marcie Party is that ALL
Canadians are equal NOT some more equal than others with
special perks not enjoyed by others. In summary the Marcie
Party believes in Equality not just tolerance as is practiced
today in Canada.
14. The
metric system will be officially abolished in Canada. Although
the Metric Commission was abolished several years ago Canada
continues to maintain two systems of measurements which
confuse most citizens. In addition billions of dollars of
additional expense are required to maintain mechanical devices
which may have both SAE and Metric parts.
15 A
Canadian vehicle factory will be established with Canadian
designs for our winter and severe conditions. The Canadian vehicles must have adequate clearance and size
for winter driving conditions here and be equipped with block
heaters and a set of snow tires must be sold with the car in
addition to the summer tires. All levels of government
must purchase vehicles only from this Canadian source. 50%
of the Canadian Vehicle market will be opened to foreign
countries on a one for one basis where they may sell one
vehicle in Canada for every one Canadian vehicle sold in their
country.
16.
Capital punishment for child and police killers will be
implemented. All prisons will be moved to far northern
locations. Prisoners will be expected to support themselves
and all their costs by their labour. The personal wealth
of all prisoners will be used to pay for their expenses while
in jail. Presently it costs over $250,000 per year to
house a prisoner in Canada and we suggest bringing this cost
down to approximately the average income of a Canadian family
as a start.
17.
Drivers who drink and drive will receive a life time ban on
driving and the forfeiture of all wealth and property and a
five year jail sentence at hard labour. That should end drunk
driving almost instantly.
18. Child
sex offenders will be castrated and placed in jail for 25
years at hard labour. Sex offenders who kill their
victims will be subject to capital punishment by
hanging. That should save the lives of hundreds of
Canadians.
19 Alcohol
will be sold by permit and regular annual blood tests for
liver and kidney function must be completed to obtain a
permit. All alcohol sales will be included in a data base and
abusers will be flagged. Alcoholics will lose their driver's licence.
20
Cigarettes will become illegal in Canada as they cause cancer.
21.
University and Community Colleges will be free to Canadian students.
22. Two Air force
squadrons of CL-415 water bombers consisting of 48 aircraft
will be established to fight forest fires in Canada and
Northern US states on contract. The aircraft will also be used
for Search and Rescue and surveillance.
23. The drug
problem will be solved. Suppliers will go to jail for a
minimum ten years hard labour in a Northern Prison. Users will
be given an automatic $10,000 fine for the first offence.
Addicted people will be sent to Northern detox centers for six
months to recover their health. People selling drugs that
cause death will be charged for murder. All funds generated
from drug sales will be confiscated.
24.Prescription
drugs will become a part of the medical services. It is
foolish to give free medical care to a person and give them a
prescription which they cannot afford to fill.
25. All
government buildings will run on two shifts so that the same
office building can service two or more ministries. As it is
each building is empty most of the day. In the private
sector they would never run a factory on one shift but our
government does.
26. The
federal government cannot ask for any information or any
reports or any tax or tax information from companies with less
than $500,000 of annual income. This will reduce the paper
burden for these businesses to zero. Revenue Canada will
not be allowed to use the Audit process as a revenue generator
as it has for the last few decades.
27. The
seat of government will be moved from the Parliament buildings
in Ottawa to a computer centre in Corner Brook where MPs will telecommute
over the internet thus saving billions on travel expenses.
They can work from home. That will save billions more.
28 MP's
wages will be set at the average Canadian family income in the
Province of residence. Any MP engaged in fraud will have
their pensions stopped, any accumulated wealth confiscated and
a jail sentence of a minimum of five years applied.
29.
Political parties will be self funded with no taxpayer support
based on votes obtained. This tends to encourage splinter
party development. This will solve that problem.
30.
Canadian Banks will have a cap of two times prime for loans
and three times prime for credit cards. ATM fees are to be
abolished. Maximum credit card rates for all credit cards in
Canada to be three times bank prime set by the Bank of Canada.
Canadian Banks will be forbidden from investing in or
generating derivative investments or acting as counter parties
for credit default swaps.
31. A
gender balance will be established with MP's with half the MPs
being Male and half being Female better representing the
reality of Canada. The PM will alternate between Genders. 10
MPs must be from First Nations in every Parliament
representing their approximate percentage of the
population.
32. There
will be one Canadian Driver's License not the ten provincial licenses
that now exist. There will also be one Canadian Health care
card not the ten that we presently have.
33. Free
trade will be abolished and replaced with a system that keeps
50% of the market for each good and service open to Canadian
companies. This portion of the market will be open to all
countries who open their country to Canadian products
34. The
export of raw logs will be prohibited.
35. The
majority ownership (51%) of all Canadian resource companies will remain in
Canadian hands.
36.
Similar to the US Jones Act all resources shipped from Canada
will be in Canadian vessels with Canadian crews. This will
require a substantial Canadian merchant marine and vessel
fleet..
37.
Canadian trades will be federally certified and each tradesman
will be responsible for his or her work. Those doing work that
does not meet standards will have their trades certification
suspended. Once a government department certifies that work is
done to a standard they are then responsible for any problems
resulting from the structure related to non standard but
previously inspected work. A central registry accessible by
computer will be kept on all de-certified tradesman and a
database of certified tradesmen with the date of certification
will be kept.
39. A
company Director or CEO may not be paid a bonus in addition to
his or her regular salary if the company declared a loss in
the year for which the bonus was paid. A cap of 1 million
dollars will be placed on the salaries of all publicly traded
companies in Canada. The salary of any executive or management
position with a Canadian publicly traded company cannot exceed
ten times the annual salary of the lowest paid employee. If
the publicly traded company produces a deficit the CEO cannot
be paid any more that five times the annual rate of the lowest
paid employee.
40. Spam
will become a serious offence with minimum fines of $10,000
and five year jail sentences. That will solve the problem of
spam from Canadian sources.
41. Cell
phone companies will be not allowed to sell multi year
contracts and if they cancel a clients service they will not
be allowed to continue to bill the client for that service.
Right now Canada has the 30th worst cell phone service on the
planet and this will fix it!
42. All
food sold in Canada must meet sound nutritional standards and must
not contain excessive amounts of salt or sugar. Fast foods
with high caloric ratings will not be sold to people who are obese.
Obese people will be placed on a medically administered diet
to reduce deaths from medical conditions associated with
obesity.
43. The
TransCanada Highway will be twined across Canada with separate
highways for east and west travel. There will be clean and
safe rest stops every 100 miles. Standards will be the same
for all provinces.
44.There
will be one universal health care card in Canada so that if
Canadians travel to another province they will not be penalized
for health care costs that would otherwise be paid for by
their province's health care coverage.
45.
Support of Family Values in all government operations. Family
based activates (soccer hockey etc etc) will be tax free. Any
incentive to break up the family unit for tax purposes will be
eliminated. Support of older unemployed or retired family
members will be a tax deduction up to the level of a normal
personal tax deduction.
46. Size
of Government to be reduced. Canadians suffer under too
many levels of government in too many areas. The new emphasis
will be on Defence, Education, Health, Infrastructure
including the Environment, Finance and Culture. The federal
government Ministries will be reduced by 50% as will the
number of federal statutes to make government more streamlined
and effective.
47. General
Aviation Accident rate to be lowered by 50% In Canada the
commercial aviation accident rate is good but the general
aviation accident rate in comparison is horrendous. The Marcie
Party would get to the bottom of this problem and bring the
accident rate down. Today only minimal investigations
are made by Transport Canada on general aviation crashes and
too many Canadians are loosing their lives as a result.
49.
H1N1 PANDEMIC The Marcie Party supports and congratulates
Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq and her Ministry Staff and all
the Public Health workers across Canada in their efforts
to prepare Canada for the pandemic and their implementation of
the largest mass immunization in Canadian history. We strongly
oppose the position of the Liberal Party of Canada who are
attempting to use the swine flu to gain political points and
who have been continually working against the Minister and her
staff.
50.
PayDay Loan companies will be closed down and the practice
made illegal. They are charging atrocious rates of interest to
people who cannot afford it.
51. Scouting.
The Girl Guides recently advised that they were shutting down
and selling their camps because of financial problems. The
Scouting movement is one of the best developmental organizations
for our young Canadians. We cannot allow this organization
with its thousands of volunteers, beavers, cubs, guides and
scouts to fail. Money saved from the abolition of the Senate
will be used to provide back up funding so that NO camps will
need to be closed. In addition all expenses incurred by
scouting volunteers as they work in the scouting movement will
be tax deductible. The objective here is to have a vibrant,
strong scouting movement that will do a tremendous amount of
good to build Canadian society.
52. Funeral
Expenses No taxes of any type will be charged on any
funeral expenses for Canadians or their pets. They have earned
a tax holiday lets give it to them.
